How much will the RYA Dinghy Level 2 course cost including exam fees?
Depending on where you do the course, and whether you have a club discount, you can pay between £125 - £180 (Approx US $195-$280 or 160-230 EUROS)
What will you get out of this sailing course?
You will become a competent sailor without close supervision, able to sail on all points of sail in good conditions.
What are your limits on passing this course?
You will be able to sail in good conditions without close supervision.
Is the course Onshore (theory), practical or both?
It is a practical course with some instruction in safety whilst ashore.
Where can you take it?
You can do the course anywhere there is a club or sailing school accredited by the RYA that offers the course.
Can you do this course in another country?
Yes. The RYA has accredited sailing centres all over the world.
What level of experience do you need before you begin the RYA Level 2?
You can be a complete novice to sailing.
How long does the course take?
The RYA Level 2 typically takes two days but it is often combined with the RYA Dinghy Level 1 course
over five days.
What does the RYA Level 2 course involve?
Rigging, launching and landing the boat. Sailing in a good wind on all points of sail as well as tacking and gybing, and safety precautions as well as how to right the boat in the event of a capsize. You will also learn the ‘Rules of the Road’, an essential set of laws that govern all sailing – and are frequently exploited in dinghy racing.

You should consider doing an RYA Dinghy Level 3
from here, though with the sailing experience you can consider doing an RYA yachting course such as a Competent Crew.
